The nearest airport to Hisarönü is Dalaman, which is about two hours transfer by car. Next nearest is Bodrum, which is about a further 30 minutes away by car. The nearest city to Hisarönü is bustling Marmaris, which has great shopping and some of the liveliest night night in the whole of Turkey. Along the coast from Hisarönü is Marti Marna, the largest marina outside of Marmaris, so very popular with yacht enthusiasts as it offers some fabulous sailing around the local bays and day trips to the nearby Greek island of Simi.
At the back of Hisarönü, set in beautiful countryside is the Dortnal Ranch which provides trails and horse lessons for beginners and experienced riders alike, convenient for our stone villas.
The bay of Hisarönü is protected from the elements so it is very popular for water sports. The hotels on the water front offer sailing lessons and most other water sports. An ancient fort overlooks the town and is a good place to walk to in the morning before the sun rises, beating the heat of the day.
The old road to Orhaniye from Hisarönü is also a popular route for cyclists and walkers as it passes through spectacular scenery and you can visit an ancient temple along the route. |
